New to OFLC

Welcome to Our Father Lutheran Church where we are

“United in Christ, Impacting the World.”

“What can I expect when I visit?”

Walk through the doors of Our Father’s house and become part of a multi generational community on an exciting journey of faith. The new facilities provide space for worship, education, meeting and being together. You’ll have a choice of worship styles from a more traditional Liturgical rite at our 8 AM Sunday service to creative alternative at 10:45 while Saturday evening at 5 PM offers a smaller, more intimate communion service. Bible and topical study engage Our Father’s family throughout the week.  View service times and directions to Our Father.

“What About My Children?”

“Let the little children come to me,” Jesus said, and Our Father places high emphasis on creating and nurturing that life-long encounter between Jesus and kids in a safe and creative environment. Two opportunities for children’s education are offered each Sunday morning—a 9:30-10:30 children’s Bible Discovery education hour, and “Sprouts,” an educational experience for kids ages 3 years old through grade 5 during the 10:45 service. Confirmation instruction is offered for young people, grades 7-9.

“How Do I Get Connected?”

What does it mean to be “living connected?” Worship with us, connected to the timeless message of God’s love in Christ Jesus. Connect through small groups where honest sharing and acceptance thrive. Connect in service through the multiple opportunities that Our Father offers.  Live connected at Our Father!

Our New Member Program is also a great way to get connected.  It is held twice a year in the fall and spring on Sunday mornings during the education hour.  A six-week class on Lutheran teachings is offered for those with no Lutheran background or those desiring a refresher course.  This class is intended to assist participants in making a decision regarding membership.  Following this class is a six-week orientation program designed to integrate new members into life at Our Father.  A six-week series on living our faith (small group format) concludes our new member program.

Who Is Our Father?

We Believe:

As Lutheran Christians we continue in the historic teachings of Martin Luther and the 16th century reformers, teachings that are summarized by the simple phrases, “Grace alone,” “Faith alone” and “Scripture alone.”

Grace Alone
Our relationship with God is based solely on God’s love for us in our sinfulness and brokenness. Though we continually rebel and turn against God, such love as God’s will not stop, but instead gave to us Jesus, the beloved Son of God. Through his life, death and resurrection, Jesus reveals God’s grace-filled love to us.

Faith Alone
We connect with God not by the good things we do or even by right belief, but through faith, a gift of God’s Holy Spirit. In faith we hear God’s surprising, delightful word of life in Jesus Christ and cling to it with all we are.

Scripture Alone
The Bible is God’s trustworthy and authoritative revelation to us, a word of judgement and grace which centers around Jesus Christ. It is our only rule and norm for Christian doctrine.

Who is Jesus?

For more than 2000 years people have grappled with the question, “Who is Jesus?” True he was a teacher, healer, worker of miracles and model of the godly life, yet Jesus is so much more. As Christians we believe that his life, death and resurrection give to our lives meaning and purpose in this life and the assurance of life with God forever through the forgiveness of our sins and the conquering of death.
