Outreach

Outreach Ministries at Our Father

The Outreach Ministry committee coordinates Our Father's ministry of love, especially to people in physical needs.  Activities of ministry include such things as distributing Thanksgiving food and gifts to the needy, providing food, transportation or baby sitting for members in need, home visitation of seniors and sponsoring refugee families or other low-income families.  Members who have special talents such as roofing, car repair, home maintenance, etc., and services to volunteer to people in need can contact the church office.

Here is an alphabetical listing with descriptions of some of our Outreach Ministries:

FEBRUARY 2012
HIGHLIGHTED MINISTRIES

INTERFAITH FOOD DRIVES
"Love Thy Neighbor"
February 2012 Food Drive
In September, 2011, we held a food drive for InterFaith called "Let's Be Neighbors."  Members of our congregation brought in food as well as handed out bags in the neighborhoods around the church and then returned to those neighborhoods a week later to collect the bags filled with food.  The front of our sanctuary was filled with all the food donations!  The food was then donated to InterFaith for their food bank. However, their shelves were depleted within 8 days of getting all our food.  That shows HOW MUCH NEED there is in our community!  In February, 2012, we will be holding another food drive for InterFaith called "Love Thy Neighbor."  Whatever you can bring in during February will be used to feed those who are hungry in our community.  Let's honor God by "Loving Thy Neighbor!"
