Confirmation Handbook

Confirmation goes back to your baptism. That day when water was poured on your head in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, on that day you became God’s own dear child. Confirmation gives you the chance to say, ‘The faith I was baptized into is my faith. This I believe.’ And in Confirmation you learn what it is to live as His dear child in this world.  Confirmation is only part of the journey. This is not preparation for graduation, but it is a time to grow and mature as you prepare to become an active member in our community of faith, and learn what it means to follow Jesus. Classes meet from 6:30 – 8:00 pm, with food and fellowship from 6:00 – 6:30 pm. (Food is available for purchase most nights.)

Confirmation Sunday – 2018

Confirmation Sunday is on Reformation Day, Sunday, October 28, 2018 at the 8:00 am Worship Service. The celebration and Faith Expression Project Display is between services from 9:15 am – 10:30 am.

Sunday Bible Study, 9:30 am in the Middle School Room
Middle School is like no other time in life. Join us as we talk about what God’s word has to say to us in this unique phase of life.

Breakouts:
Breakout is a monthly gathering for 6-8th grade students designed to build community for our students and their friends. Breakout meets every 2nd Sunday of the month (September through May) from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm (with occasional off-campus activities extending to 3:00 pm).  Food is available for purchase or students may bring a sack lunch. The Breakout schedule is listed in the Year at a Glance button above.

Retreats and Summer Missions:

Retreats are a great way for the confirmands to get to know each other, their mentors, and meet with God in a unique and fun way.  Retreats are an expectation of the Confirmation ministry and all efforts should be made to attend the Winter Retreat.  Due to the added cost, the Winter Retreat is an encouraged but optional activity.
